Mannaminne - in the middle of the High Coast of Sweden
Mannaminne is a unique place of four acres, where over 50 buildings welcome everyone to a meeting between nature and culture, art and technique, history and future, locally and globally, tiny to big things.
This is all the all inclusive composition by the artist Anders Åberg that can be called an open-air museum where there is something for all interests and ages. See the video below.
You can walk between agriculture museum , art museums, a Chinese pavilion, tubewagon, lokomotive and trams, houses from Hungary, Estonia, Norway and Sweden, a coastal museum, a traditional Norwegian church, a giant handmade terrestrial globe in a house of its own, an accordion muser, a technique house with lots of vehicles, a Swedish Draken aerofighter, an open roasting-house for coffee, a tow-boat from the river of Ångermanälven and much, much more.
You can also eat and stay over night at Mannaminne. Café Mannaminne serves you coffee, tea, bakeries and simple dishes, and of course everything you need for a swedish "fika". In the Hotel Mannaminne you can stay in a room that itself is a work of art or why not the B&B at the Norway house or maybe in one of the three small cabins. In the shop you can buy arts and crafts from local craftsmen.
Mannaminne is like a living village where there is always exciting things to discover, not just the art or the museums but also concerts, activities for children, temporary exhibitions, festivals and a lot of other events taking place.
Mannaminne is chantingly situated in the village of Häggvik in Nordingrå and is one of most visited spots in the World Heritage High Coast.
